💊 Warren Buffett breaks up with pharma; Mankind wants doctors to stream more; Pollution kills
Mankind's streaming service for medicos; Drone medical deliveries take off in India
Hello there. It must be wonderful in North Korea where they reported the first Covid infection 5 days ago and already have over a million recoveries.
In today's Kable: Mankind launches an OTT service for docs; Lancet says pollution kills; Young American kids get a booster; Warren Buffett says no to healthcare; Merck gets a new cancer drug; AZ boosts a cancer alliance too; Dr Agarwals buys 5 hospitals; Smart contact lenses; A prayer to exterminate mosquitoes.
So you think you can live forever, eh? Hang on there. If Covid don't get you, pollution will. Researchers say 1 in 6 deaths worldwide can be attributed to pollution in a new pre-pandemic study published in The Lancet Planetary Health. The report, based on reported global mortality numbers for 2019, says 9 million people die due to pollution globally. India alone saw 2.3 million pollution-linked deaths, with over 1.6 million caused by air pollution. Holding out a silver lining, researchers also said the report only has a conservative death estimate and actual deaths due to pollution are likely to be much higher.
