Hello, and welcome back to The Kable for a round-up of all the deals involving Big Pharma. Oh wait, is that not what you're here for? Well, we have other news, too but a whole lot of deals make up the bulk of the day.
The US FDA's love affair with Indian drugmakers continues. In the latest overture, the agency has issued 4 observations to Alembic Pharma for its oncology injectable formulation facility in Gujarat.
A few days after banning the ingredients in the cough syrups that led to child deaths in The Gambia, Indonesia says nearly 100 children have died from acute kidney injury this year. The report has led to a ban on all syrup and liquid medicine in the country.
Covid may be over, but in Singapore, the XBB variant is causing a surge of infections putting the country on track to make this spike its second-worst Covid wave ever. Reinfection rates in this wave have jumped from 5% to 17%. The latest country to report the XBB variant is India. Thankfully, Covid is over.
In the UAE, they now have a new drive-through service... for blood tests. Reports are vague on whether you can order fries to go with it.
