Large companies around the world are spinning off what they can into stand-alone entities and selling off what they can't. Boston Scientific, however, says it'll bulk up instead. The bull in the bear market is charging into the bariatric domain by snatching up the gastro-focused Apollo Endosurgery for $417 million.
China's debt-ridden Fosun Pharma was reported to be considering selling its stake, worth $3.8 billion, in Indian injectables maker Gland Pharma. Gland Pharma, however, says it has no knowledge of any such sale. Instead, Gland Pharma has strengthened its European play by acquiring French CDMO Cenexi for $120 million.
